About all I can say is WOW! This collection is beyond outstanding. Artist Molly Crabapple is awesome, and her talent is more than evident throughout these pages. It is astonishing to see artwork of this caliber printed within the confines of a graphic novel. It is virtually and literally stunning to the senses.

How Ms. Cho managed to write the foreward for this work is beyond me. I simply can’t come up with words to describe what my eyes are seeing other than WOW. I envy her for having such insight into Ms. Crabapple’s mind.

Ms. Crabapple’s fine art and illustration work has been graced the walls of glamorous nightclubs, museums, and galleries, so we are very lucky to have her show up in the pages of a graphic novel.

This whimsical, yet oh so slightly twisted, look at the lives of the women she brings to life with pen and ink is almost beyond description. I could spend days in a thesaurus looking up words to describe what you must see to believe.

The women she portrays are each beautiful in their own way. The depiction of each character is detailed to show them at their best in a manner reminiscent of Alice In Wonderland meets Jim Morrison. The longer I look at these pieces, the more I see. The addition of little notes from the artist herself are fun and help us to see the little nuances we might otherwise miss. The subliminal images are just as outstanding as the main characters.

While the foreward is a glowing rendition of praise for Ms. Crabtree, and the short bio by the artist herself, is a quick look into what brought all this to life for us to enjoy, I personally would have like to have seen a bit more “story line” used to help us capture the meanings behind each drawing. Then again, like fine art, sometimes you just can’t describe what you see, you have to feel it in your soul.

I hope your soul enjoys this work as much as I did.
