I would like to take a second to tell you guys about a new show on Nickelodeon that I recently had the pleasure of ROFLing to called Rocket Monkeys. This show is for a younger viewer, but much like SpongeBob Square pants, Dexter’s Lab, or The Fairy Odd Parents (you can tell I watch TV with my kids right?) There are a few jokes that will fly over the 5-7yr olds head and hit you right in the funny bone. That said the producers of this show do a fine job of keeping everything lighthearted, cheeky and remarkably hilarious. Series showrunner is Mark Evestaff – the producer behind the internationally-lauded animated hit, Jimmy Two-Shoes, which maintains a strong cult following after its two-year run on Disney XD. Now I grew up on Tom & Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Loony Toons and the like, so slapstick comedy is something I’m quite familiar with. And believe me when I say that this show brings that same traditional bag of tricks along with some new gags in a very fluent way! Rocket Monkeys follows two brothers, Gus and Wally, on an aimless adventure through the cosmos. Occasionally the two Monkeynauts are tasked with some inexplicable task that they have neither competence nor qualifications of handling. Thankfully their trusty robot YAY-OK is slightly more competent and qualified than they are…slightly! In any case, Gus’s and Wally’s competitive nature is the drive of the show, pitting the two would be heroes in one disastrous situation after another. Ironically it is this same nature that gets them out of their dire circumstances. I sat with my two kids last night and watched three episodes of this series, I had cut their LittleBigPlanet gaming session short to introduce this to them, so they were like “this better be good daddy!” The first episode opened with the two monkey brothers having a toothbrushing contest that snowballed completely out of control! From that point on my kids were officially little Rocket Monkeys! Now I will have you know, my kids have access to pretty much every console, tablets, smart phones, toys etc… so when they spent their free time watching all three available episodes of this show twice in a row, I was convinced that the team working on it knew what they were doing. This show is a great recommendation for those little ones in your life, but don’t be surprised if you find yourself tuning in when they aren’t around.

Two hours after their stream went live the PlayStation event has come to a close, Sony bombarded us with information and it as much more then anyone could have hoped for. We got a look at the controller, some specs, live demos, but key we saw games. So many games. PlayStation 4 But first things first, lets get the hardware facts down. The keynote opened with a coy sizzle real, some talk about Vita and the PS brand and then right to the point. The PlayStation 4 was announced officially, not the Orbis or the New PlayStation or anything else, Sony sticks to its guns with the PlayStation 4. The logo is the same as the new PS3 style, and overall the marketing looks good. Worth noting is that we have not seen the actual system, only the controller. Here is what know about the specs: Powerful X86 CPU with 2 Teraflops of processing power Advanced built to last GPU 8 Gigs of RAM (huge improvement) Hard drive of unknown size Its not much to go on but from the features its clear the system has been built with multitasking in mind, and that is a very good thing. But more on that in the PSN section. A big issue for me is one that I think many may have missed. “No native backwards compatibility” This means your entire PS3 library is not usable on the PS4. This sucks. Hard. Now they said they are looking into allowing you to stream PS games, PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games all to the 4 but the issue is that your library is useless. This likely means to play Ps3 games with the 4 you will need to re buy them on the streaming service, or something along those lines. Its a black mark to be sure. The Controller There she is, the DualShock 4. The design is what we expected and lines up with the leaked developer model we saw, with the added bonus of a light bar that looks to replace the SixAxis function. They boasted about the new hardware saying: Better triggers, analog sticks & rumble Reduced latency Touchpad Share button Headphone Jack Lightbar (works with PS Eye similar to the move) There is not to much to say, the design looks fine, its good they didn’t deviate to much from the classic controller and those analog sticks are right where I like them. PlayStation Network Here is we get into some meat. The PS4 is going to see a major push for social features, Sony wants their PSN to rival and beat out Xbox Live. Lets have a quick rundown of the new features: Suspend mode lets you turn the system off and put into a low power state, return and it wakes right up, no booting no start screens just resume the game like you left it paused. Full background functionality, full downloading and updating of games while playing. Games can be played even while still downloading....

Following the recent announcement of Capcom Arcade Cabinet it’s now time to lift the lid and reveal the full list of classic 8-bit titles and how gamers will be able to transform their PlayStation3 or Xbox 360 into their very own customizable, HD 80s arcade. Starting February 19 until early May, a total of 15 titles from 1984-1988 will be released on a staggered schedule available to purchase digitally either as a series of packs or individually, allowing players to choose what they want to buy. By purchasing all 15 titles, either separately or together, players will gain access to two bonus games absolutely free. Downloading an individual title or pack will also give access to the Capcom Arcade Cabinet ‘platform’ which provides additional features including DIP switch functionality, a music player, and the ability to capture and share screenshots or video. When playing in standard mode, players will be able to access DIP switch-like settings to adjust their number of lives and difficulty, including a Casual Mode which tones down the difficulty level and makes it more attainable to see the end credits. Further features include 2 player online play for certain titles; a global leaderboard; a training mode with infinite lives to hone your strategy and an option to select either the Japanese or international versions of the individual titles. In order to share their experiences with friends, PlayStation 3 users will be able to capture video of gameplay to post on YouTube, while Xbox 360 users will be able to upload screenshots to Facebook. Further additions include a sound gallery that allows players to listen to the background music of any of the games in their cabinet, and an art gallery which fills with new pieces as players progress through the games. Game Pack 1 and the first individual title, Black Tiger, will be available on February 19. Xbox 360 owners will be able to play through the game with a single credit before restarting. On the PlayStation 3, players will have unlimited credits effectively giving them the full game for free. BUNDLE PACKS/INDIVIDUAL TITLES NORTH AMERICAN SCHEDULE PRICING Black Tiger demo February 19 (PSN) February 20 (XBLA) Free GAME PACK 1 Titles: Black Tiger, Avengers, 1943: The Battle of Midway February 19 (PSN) February 20 (XBLA) $4.99/400MSP GAME PACK 2 Titles: Ghosts n Goblins, Gun.Smoke, Section Z March 5 (PSN/XBLA) $9.99/800MSP Avengers March 5 (PSN)* $3.99 1943: The Battle of Midway March 5 (PSN)* $3.99 GAME PACK 3 Side Arms, Legendary Wings, Trojan March 19 (PSN/XBLA) $9.99/800MSP Ghosts n Goblins March 19 (PSN/XBLA) $3.99/320MSP Gun.Smoke March 19 (PSN/XBLA) $3.99/320MSP Section Z March 19 (PSN/XBLA) $3.99/320MSP GAME PACK 4 Titles: Commando, The Speed Rumbler, Exed Exes (Savage Bees) April 2 (PSN/XBLA) $9.99/800MSP Side Arms April 2 (PSN/XBLA) $3.99/320MSP Legendary Wings April 2 (PSN/XBLA) $3.99/320MSP Trojan April 2 (PSN/XBLA) $3.99/320MSP GAME PACK 5 Titles: 1942, SonSon, Pirate Ship Higemaru April 16 (PSN/XBLA) $9.99/800MSP Commando April 16 (PSN/XBLA) $3.99/320MSP The Speed Rumbler April 16 (PSN/XBLA) $3.99/320MSP Exed Exes...

While The Spotlight may be considered PSTALENT’s flagship production, they also have an extensive catalog of additional in-house videos, associate productions from other aspiring directors from the Home community, and many more projects in the pipeline. Many of these planned productions will require additional support on both sides of the camera and PSTALENT will be actively recruiting new talent across Europe. PSTALENT recently became the first community-born developer at the end of 2012 and will be releasing its first line, The Shadows Collection, across Europe on February 6th. These finely crafted duds evoke both nostalgia and respect (or is it fear?) in lines for both men and women. The Shadows Collection was inspired by a story arc that may soon become a new production on Home…
