If your trying to get into videogame capturing/editing and are serious about it, this is your baby. I picked mine up about 9 months ago and I gotta tell you its the best. What makes it awesome is its an external device so it wont tax your PC's CPU like an CaptureCard would. Another awesome feature is you will be able to watch your recording on your PC while you actually Play or direct the recording on your TV.

If you have the Hauppauge the is no need for switching cables when your ready to record because it basically splits the signal coming from your game console will almost no loss of quality. The only thing I would knick this gadget for is its lag on the PC end and its exclusive and not so good software (that hasnt been updated since I got it). Other n that you cant go wrong with this thing.

How does your console hook into it, and how much is the price?

Sorry thought I answered this.

So you would have to use component cables vs hdmi. Your would run your PS3 to your Happauge and it will work as a fork in the road. One lead will go to your TV input and their is a USB cable that runs to your PC.

I'm definitely picking this product up next year. I really want to showcase some sweet games like Suikoden II and my training sessions on some hot fighting games like King of Fighters and Tekken.

Nowadays the price for that baby is very good on the pocket, so pretty soon I'll be able to get my very own recorder.

Thanks for the post, Narde!
